Job Description:

SUMMARY:

Axiom Medical Consulting, LLC is a leader in Occupational Emergent Injury Management, Health Programs, and non-emergent Occupational Case Management. The Ergonomist will be primarily responsible to perform workplace site visits to perform physical demand analysis of the physical requirements to perform essential functions of a job. Physical demands analyses will supplement job descriptions and be the basis to create functional capacity evaluations in support of post-offer preplacement testing, return to work, and fitness for duty medical evaluations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Perform physical demands analyses for offsite client’s employees who perform physically demanding work.
  • Travel to offsite client work place operations.
  • Review position descriptions to get insight into the physical demands that are to be assessed.
  • Observe workforce duties real time to make physical demands assessments.
  • Consult with work force supervisors to validate position description physical demands statements and the physical demands analyses assessed
  • Be available for other duties and responsibilities, not mentioned above, that provide support to Axiom and our clients.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position will not have employees reporting to them.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Possess education and training as an ergonomist required.
Experience in performing physical demands analyses preferred.
Obtaining certification in performing physical demands analyses required within 30 days of starting.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read, analyze, interpret, and write general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

COMPUTER SKILLS

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Accounting software; Database software; Contract Management systems, Internet software; Payroll systems; Project Management software, Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.

hile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk and hear. The employee is required to stand or walk as a routine function of the job. Computer/keyboard and telephone skills are a frequent function during their shift. The employee may be required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, rarely lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and is never required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision to view the computer monitor. Distance vision is required to drive occasionally to client locations and offsite meetings. Therefore, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception are required for driving.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The noise level in the office environment is between 45 – 60 dbA TWA. Travel is required for this position and can be greater than 50% of the time to client work place operations which could be industrial in nature primarily.
