The Physical Demands of a job describe the manner in which the job is currently being
performed. This includes the physical tasks required to perform the job (i.e.,
standing, walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, lifting, etc.). The completed,
written job descriptions are forwarded to the physician for review in order to effectively
address return to work decisions and appropriate physical restrictions if needed.
The Essential
Functions of the job are those tasks which, if removed, would fundamentally alter the
job.
